This was taken April 16, 2009. My Dad, Floyd Enfinger, USN Ret, was receiving medals and ribbons that he earned while serving 20 years in the Navy. (My Dad retired in 1960 and is wearing the same uniform jacket that he wore when he retired.) My son, Robert Wedlund, LCPL in the USMC was home on leave and we were able to be there for the ceremony.

This is Gloria and Floyd Enfinger, my parents, at the dinner. Daddy served as a gunners mate on the USS Philadelphia.

USS Philadelphia Reunion

I was able to go with my parents to Norfolk, VA for the USS Philadelphia Reunion. The WW II Veterans and their familys get together to share memmories and catch up on what has happened since the last reunion. The numbers are getting smaller as they age, but it is a rewarding experience that I have been able to share in 2008 and 2009!

Well, this is a new adventure for an old lady! Figured I would try this to see if it might help others keep up with what I am doing. I am also hoping that others may join the blogging craziness so I can keep up with them!

I guess I will be experimenting for a few days while I get used to this.
